Associated Banc-Corp (NASDAQ: ASBC) is a bank holding company headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As of early 2007, it had $20.8 billion in assets and was the 41st-largest bank holding company in the United States. Associated Bank is a nationally chartered bank, regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Department of the Treasury[2] The company has over 5,101 employees.[3]

- 1993 – acquired First National Bank of Sturgeon Bay of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and Farmers State Bank of Pound, Wisconsin[4]
- 1999 – acquired Citizens Bank, NA of Shawano, Wisconsin[4]
- 2001 – name changed to Associated Bank, NA; merged and re-branded existing affiliate banks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Neenah, Wisconsin, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Wausau, Wisconsin, and Madison, Wisconsin[4]
- 2003 – merged and re-branded affiliate banks of Associated Card Services Bank in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Associated Bank Illinois in Rockford, Illinois[4]
- 2005 – acquired First Federal Capital Bank of La Crosse, Wisconsin and State Financial Bank of Hales Corners, Wisconsin; merged and re-branded affiliate banks of Associated Bank Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Associated Bank Chicago in Chicago, Illinois[4]
- 2006 – acquired State Financial Bank of Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
- 2007 – acquired First National Bank of Hudson of Hudson, Wisconsin.
Subsidiaries
During the 1990s and 2000s, Associated Banc-Corp merged all of its affiliated banks into Associated Bank, NA, a wholly owned subsidiary. Associated Bank, NA, has $20.5 billion in assets.[3]
