The Lord Florey Student Prize (formerly the Australian Students Prize) is an Australian Government prize which has been awarded annually since 1991 in order to give "national recognition to academic excellence and achievement in secondary education"[1]. Five hundred students receive the award each year, which consists of a certificate and cash prize of AU$2000.

Each State and Territory Minister for Education nominates a number of students (according to the state or territory's proportion of year 12 students) for the prize each year. Medallists from Australia's teams in the International Biology, Chemistry, Informatics, Mathematics and Physics Olympiads also receive the Lord Florey Student Prize.

Prize winners are announced in the year following their completion of high school, generally in June. Names are printed in various newspapers across Australia, and are posted on the prize's website.
