Avantha Group is a business conglomerate in India. Its chairman is Gautam Thapar.
The group's business interests include power transmission and distribution equipment and services, paper and pulp, energy, infrastructure, food processing, farm forestry, chemicals, IT and ITES.
The Avantha Group operates in over ten countries with 20,000 employees. Group companies include Crompton Greaves and Ballarpur Industries Limited. Recently, CG acquired Ganz, Pauwels, Microsol and Sonomatra. BILT acquired Sabah Forest Industries of Malaysia. Another group entity, The Global Green Company, acquired Belgium- and Hungary-based Intergarden.
