The Costa Rican colón is divided into 100 céntimos; the El Salvadoran colón is divided into 100 centavos. In Spanish, the plural form is colones, but it is frequently rendered in English as colons (pronounced like colognes). SymbolThe same symbol for colón (₡) is used in both El Salvador and Costa Rica.
