There are a number of systems of communications in Yemen.

The telephone system in Yemen includes 188,000 main lines in use (as of 1998), and 2,300,000 mobile telephones in use (since 2007). Three mobile network providers are present at the moment in the mobile phone market:

- Sabafon,
- MTN Yemen (Spacetel Yemen until 2006),
- Yemen Mobile.

The infrastructure of the domestic system consists of microwave radio relay, cables and tropospheric scatter. The international network consists of three Intelsat (two Indian Ocean, and one Atlantic Ocean), one Intersputnik and two Arabsat satellite earth stations, and a microwave radio relay to Saudi Arabia and Djibouti. Since unification in 1990, efforts have been made to create a national telecommunications network.

In broadcasting, as of 1998, there are six AM radio broadcast stations, one FM station and two shortwave stations, serving (as of 1997) 1.05 million radios.

Television

There are 3 television broadcast stations (including one Egypt-based station that broadcasts in Yemen) serving 470,000 televisions in Yemen.

Internet

There were five internet service provider in Yemen. The top-level domain and country code for Yemen is "YE". In 2007 270,000 were registered.
