Epicor (NASDAQ: EPIC) develops a range of enterprise software solutions targeted at midmarket companies primarily in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality and services industries. The company is headquartered in Irvine, California and was founded in 1984 as Platinum Software Corporation. In the late 1990’s, executives made some strategic acquisitions to help evolve Platinum from a provider of financial accounting systems to a provider of end-to-end enterprise solutions. To help solidify the transformation, the company went through a name change. In May 1999, Platinum Software changed its name to epicor software corporation. Epicor was named in Business 2.0 magazine's 2007 list of the 100 fastest-growing technology companies (this is the company's second consecutive year on the list). In 2006, Epicor also made Fortune's 100 fastest-growing companies list. External linksReferences
