High Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance, or HANA, is a media industry group of leading companies established to create a design guideline for secure high-definition audio-visual networks. The alliance, whose founding members include Charter Communications, JVC, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc., NBC Universal, Samsung and Sun Microsystems, was established in October 2005. In addition to the founding member companies, ARM, Freescale Semiconductor, Texas Instruments, and Pulse~LINK are listed as contributing members to HANA. HANA-compliant products will include HDTVs, next generation DVD players, digital video recorders, set top cable boxes and home theaters.
