John Gatenby "Jack" Hatfield (15 August 189330 March 1965) was a competitive swimmer, who won medals for Great Britain in the early Olympic Games.

Born in the Stokesley district of West Yorkshire,[1] he went on to found a sporting goods store in Middlesbrough which continues business today. The store sponsors local sports, including a football league.

He served in the British Expeditionary Force in World War I.
