Mikael Jungner is the Managing Director of the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE (Original Finnish name: Yleisradio, in Swedish: Rundradion). Born in 1965 in Helsinki, he grew up on the Finnish west coast in the city of Vaasa. He started his five year term as Managing Director on the 1st May 2005.
Jungner was information society relations director at Microsoft Corporation 2002-2004. He was formerly Parliamentary secretary and aide of former Prime Minister Paavo Lipponen (SDP).
Mikael Jungner is married to YLE host Maria Matthes.
