Alan Sues Page

In re: Alan Sues (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

I would like to create an Alan Sues page. Alan Sues is the only cast member of Laugh In not having a page, and as he is listed in several other pages in Wikipedia there is a need for an Alan Sues page. As this has been tried before, then several times deleted, I feel the need to clear this with another Wikipedia editor. Since you are the last editor listed as having deleted the page, I am posting this here. Thanks in advance. --VictorC (talk) 16:49, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

The version I deleted in June showed up in the CSD category with a {{db-g12}} tag as a copyright infringement of www.webpan.com. It had been deleted twice before: once as a copyvio (an earlier tag noted that the webpan copyvio was mirrored on brainyencyclopedia.com) and once for no indication of notability (after the copyvio text was removed) as per {{db-person}}. A version which demonstrates notability without copyright violations will not fall at the same hurdles. — Athaenara 22:22, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

In re: my post on RegentsPark's talk page.

Thanks. Just as I was running out of ideas, you gave me a new one! (I'm sticking with my current one for the time being because it seems so appropriate.) --Regents Park (sink with my stocks) 20:52, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for formating my Third opinion request

In re: this edit.

I have never written one of these request before. Thank you very much for cleaning up my third opinion request. Yea, it was sloppy. Thanks again! Jason3777 (talk) 05:34, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

You are very welcome! — Athaenara 05:41, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
You seem very knowledgeable concerning third party opinion request. I was wondering how they work. I have seen no action on the above request. I was wondering what I should do if I get no response to my third party opinion request. Where should I go next? Should I just fix the citation needed sections and possibly get into an editing war, or go somewhere else to help me find a solution to this problem. I feel this section is very biased, and some editors don't think they need sources for what they say. But if I edit the section I'm sure it will be undone (as my edits have been undone many times before). I have stayed off Wiki for a few days (and cooled off) per Wiki suggestion. I am very surprised, actually appalled, by the disinformation in the Disinformation_campaign_during_the_2008_South_Ossetian_war article. Every time I try to correct the unsourced material it has been reverted. If you could give me any suggestions on where to go from here, please let me know. I can't stand propaganda, especially on Wikipedia. Sincerely, Jason3777 (talk) 06:37, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Joey's Sports Blog

In re: Jtsports92 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log)
See also: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joey's Sports Blog

It is absurd that if Colin Powell decided to edit a Wikipedia article pertaining to himself in order to make it more accurate that you would delete it because it was written by himself. You seem enjoy censoring people and the truth I know no other term but to call you a ravaging monarchist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtsports92 (talkcontribs) 01:16, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Swiss tourism and hotels

In re: my message on Swordfish2008's talk page

Dear Athaenara

Thank you for your hint regarding my articles "Swiss Quality Hotels International" and "Quality Label for Swiss Tourism". Please be so kind and advice specifically what is to correct. The content of the articles are just facts, exactly the way they have to be for wikipedia. The text is written in an encyclopedic way and the references are mentioned. So what do I have to do, specifically, to avoid the impression of "Conflict of interest". Thank you --Swordfish2008 (talk) 15:36, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

As per {{uw-coi}}, an "impression" of COI is less important than editing in compliance with the neutral point of view policy. DGG's post on User talk:Swordfish2008#promotional will very likely answer any remaining questions you may have. — Athaenara 08:33, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Arbroath

In re: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Coach3177 and Wikadm coi and edit warring
See also: Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Coach3177

I am concerned at your deletions and edits pertaining to the Lifeboat at Arbroath, both yours and others are not from Arbroath and have no idea what an integral part of Arbroath it is.
I have entered into the COI discussion with you but as yet no reply, I have no issues with the angling points you raised. But I would like to make you aware that I am not the same person you refer to as wikadm the most important thing I need you to know about the lifeboat is that it is a charity run as a non commercial enterprise by volunteers the website link is there the same as others, which is to link to the non commercial site to give more information about the voluntary rescue service and to allow those in the local community access to safety information. ArbCom

In re: Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2008

You should run for ArbCom. Jehochman Talk 20:36, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

I should? Say what? — Athaenara 20:40, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
You have very keen analytic skills, great resistance to trolling, and a tendency to avoid wikipolitics. You have a female username, and females are under-represented on the committee. Jehochman Talk 20:47, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Well. Hmm. So, this would mean that I would have to be nominated, whether by another user or myself, and if elected I would have to subscribe to a mailing list? (that last would annoy me most ;-)
I am quite exceptionally pleased when analytic skills, resistance to trolling, and wikipolitic-o-phobia are commended, but I don't know about the female bit, really. Of course I am a woman, and when I was an undergraduate math major I heard similar arguments (sometimes negatively, e.g. the "you'll have it easy because of affirmative action/PC quotas/reverse discrimination" sort of thing). Being far more enchanted by math than by feminism, I became a bit averse to the issue and I guess I am still.
Truly, I'm thinking no, but when you make suggestions I'm inclined to think they have a worthy basis, so I will give it more thought. — Athaenara 05:00, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for all of your effort. You took the tedious job of deleting the talkpages of my subpages.    Juthani1   tcs 00:14, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
You are welcome, and thanks for the star! If you embark on another subpage cleanup, {{db-u1}} is the best template to use. — Athaenara 00:22, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
