Dubai

Hello DubaiTerminator, thank you for your comments. I am assuming that you read my user page. I should say that I have many exaggerations written there; but yes, I do like Dubai. Sadly, I have been disliking the city more and more over the past several months. I see the large number of problems that are being created as we speak, and I also see how the current problems are failing to be addressed (which are probably going unnoticed/ignored by the emirate's leaders). I also feel that the United Arab Emirates has so much potential for many different opportunities (including democracy among many others), but they fail to grasp them. Despite these sentiments, I still feel that Dubai is an amazing place. The forward-looking atmosphere that is so present in Dubai (and expanding to some extent to the rest of the Gulf) is something that I admire. I also praise Dubai for its demographics. It is very nice that so many people from so many different countries live in Dubai; something that I know will only provide a strong foundation for its future. There are many other things I would like to discuss, but I know that you do not want to read a book-length message. So, thank you again for your comments. I look forward to working with you in the future. Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 04:36, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Greg Sang

A tag has been placed on Greg Sang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. 17:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Emaar e-mail

Good idea, DubaiTerminator. But (if Emaar even provides a response), I am unsure whether others editors will believe you. You cannot just say that Emaar said the Burj Dubai is at ### metres. You would need to provide a source to back up your claim. The closest thing I can think that would achieve this goal is the OTRS (see Wikipedia:OTRS). I am not very familiar with the system, but I know that it is mainly used for images. But, I think you might be able to use it for e-mails from different sources to be used as a reference. Good luck! Al Burj's name

Do you have a source for this? I know that Nakheel referred to Al Burj as the "Tall Tower" for a while now. And if there are no official sources to back up this, then I do not think we can change it. But if what you say is true, I doubt that Nakheel would keep that name. I am sure that Nakheel would want something much more sonorous and indicative of the location. I am confident that the building's name will be in Arabic. Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 23:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

A new task force - ESA

Hello,

I've noticed that you are active in the area of space exploration. I just wanted to let you know that a European Space Agency task force has been set up to improve the presently very poor condition of articles about ESA and related topics. If you are interested, please join the task force here. We sure could use your help. Thanks.U5K0 (talk) 11:24, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Article on Ronnie Nader

Hello, I would like to get your input regarding the notability and reliability of sources on an article of Ronnie Nader (Ecuador's first astronaut), I have serious doubts about the reliability of his scientific work. The article in question is Ronnie Nader. The whole discussion is documented on the talk page Talk:Ronnie Nader, I would really appreciate if we can get your input regarding this article. Regards, --Guillermosoriano (talk) 20:27, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Muqayshiţ

Since you appear to know about the region, I thought you might know the answer to this: some question has arisen as to whether the article Muqayshiţ is correctly named. Do you know the correct name of the island mentioned in the article, located at the coordinates 24°10′39″N 53°47′10″E / 24.1775, 53.7861? -- The Anome (talk) 10:57, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
