Hello EuropracBHIT, welcome to Wikipedia. You might find these links helpful: How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Naming conventions, Manual of Style. You should read our policies at some point too. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump, or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!
Again, welcome! Chris Roy 04:49, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
EuropracBHIT 06:00, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)EuropracBHIT Please make sure your table syntax is correct. Dysprosia 09:19, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC) Dysprosia, thank you for clearing up all my tables this evening. I'm right as long as I copy the second line of Hypernovean's table (the one of Melbourne Suburbs), but I obviously didn't. I don't know how to fix or make a table myself, at least not in the Wiki way. --EuropracBHIT 09:32, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)EuropracBHIT
~~~~ I'll try the new syntax in the sandbox. Or on my user page, whichever is the more convenient. The trouble is all these new symbols that I have to learn. Thanks for the Guide. I do expect to get a lot of practice. <nowikiEuropracBHIT 09:41, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)</nowiki> ~~~~ Thanks for joining us on the WikiProject! It's really good to have another Melburnian around. However, you might want to read Wikipedia:Manual of style, which will show you how to format an article in wikiformat :) Ambivalenthysteria 05:13, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
EuropracBHIT 04:33, 20 Jun 2004 (UTC) With you articles on Melbourne suburbs, please do not link "To Northeast" "To South" etc. in the tables. They are flooding the Most Wanted Pages list. - SimonP 18:28, Jun 23, 2004 (UTC)
(So that was the problem with the 'useless tables' described in the "Edit History", as I had noticed with a few Yarra Ranges pages). I will spend some special time putting on Jerzy's new table (see the WikiProject Melbourne). The table was started on the 25th May. They were intended, of course, to be filled up with suburbs (or rather be placemakers for them!), but it is more trouble than we had intended. (Rather that Hypernovean intended, it was his/her idea to put them there; I applied the idea for suburb stubs). EuropracBHIT 02:36, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC) Can someone supply me with a few details on where I can find out more about WikiProject Melbourne? I made edits to suburbs around the City of Greater Dandenong and I hope I didn't break any style conventions. Mostly I filled in the suburb adjacency tables. I considered a suburb to be adjacent only if it physically touched the main suburb. This has meant that some tables finished up with less than 9 cells. See Noble Park for an example. EuropracBHIT 07:28, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC) Naming convention for television articlesHi. Seeing as you were once previously interested in a naming convention, I'd like to invite you to vote on adoption of Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television). Voting is taking place on the Talk page and ends on Sep 13 2004. -- Netoholic 23:24, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC) Australian Aboriginal artYou voted for Australian Aboriginal art, this week's Australian Collaboration of the week. Please come and help it become a featured-standard article. Thanks. Article LicensingHi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
OR
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" with "{{MultiLicensePD}}". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
Hale-BoppI didn't even know there was an edit conflict. :) It's fine, edit conflicts are a fact of life at Wikipedia and I don't think anyone ever takes it personally. Anyway, the article looks OK again, I used the Administrator rollback feature to fix the anonymous vandalism. Keep those eyes peeled! :) --Dante Alighieri | Talk 01:25, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC) Wikipedia:WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia/RequestsHi, thanks for your interest in the Spoken article project. I see that you've made a number of addtions to Wikipedia:WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia/Requests. That's a big help, as it is difficult to decide the best articles to in to which to invest the time needed to re-edit and record. May I ask how you happened to pick those articles? Do you have a personal interest in listening to them, or do you simply feel that they would be good articles to make available to others? Thanks, -Willmcw 23:55, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)
Appreciate your advice. I have to admid that I had never used the buttons but just gone for the code.. With a variety of degrees of success. Yes you are correct my changes tend to have started from the RACV. Odd that. .. its pretty un-interesting. Authors...There are 13 items listed via: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author-exact=Robert%20Dessaix and 20 via but both have a few that you might consider to be "repeats". The ISBN I added to Dessaix's page because you can click on it, choose Amazon, which gets you to that book page and then click on the author's name, which is equivalent to the above URL. If you did not want to list all of them, it is common to have a section entitled "Selected Books". I usually just include the title, year and ISBN, but the very brief descriptions you provided are helpful. An ISBN is not perfect because works published in Europe often have a different ISBN (different cover, maybe even a different title), but at least it leads one easily to a broad view of what the writer has published. 69.181.82.102 20:44, 3 December 2005 (UTC) Henriett Seth-F.Hello, thank you for mentioning this article. I wikified it and the data mentioned in it seem to be true, although I didn't check each piece of them individually. The interview is far too long for me to translate it -- sorry. Maybe there is some who will undertake it, see Wikipedia:Translation_into_English#Hungarian-to-English. If you're very much concerned about its trustworthiness, you can put these parts into comments <!-- like this --> (instead of deleting them), but to me the article seemed to be trustworthy. Adam78 15:37, 7 December 2005 (UTC) City of Hobson's BayI see you have quite rightly reverted the nonsense added to this page. It was added last week and then reverted. It was then put back this week. I note that very similar nonsense has been added to other pages by the same person. Can the Melbourne Wiki Project ban this person? I live in Melbourne (indeed in Hobson's Bay) but I'm not in the Melbourne Wiki Project.Bduke 02:50, 16 December 2005 (UTC) WIkiProject AFLG'day mate. Bored in the footy off-season? I mainly did the Darren Millane page beacause im in the process of creating a "Collingwood Legends" web site, i saw he wasnt on the site and just added abit of info ive found randomly on the net. Anything else you wish to know/discuss just drop me an email as i check that more often then i do my messages on here:P the address is on my user page, cheers - dan --Dan027 09:04, 18 February 2006 (UTC) Apology acceptedTruth be told I wasn't too greatly bothered, but I'm really glad you took the time to visit my talk page. Greenspan seems to have more experience as a child psychiatrist, whereas Shanker has more experience as a philosopher/psychologist who has taught chimpanzees to speak. The two seems to have found more common ground betweeen a child and bonobo than any I have seen before them. The additional stages come after the first stages, so the authors are there talking about older children all the way thru life, and the last stage includes what most would consider "old age". They call stage 16 "wisdom of the ages". My interest is an interest in anything regarding how thought works, and their views seemed to be 100% compatible with my views in the reviews, so I read it in august last year. My goal is to make my computer think for me, since I am too lazy to do this myself. Whether I succeed or not, it is a very interesting hobby. There is a user with the user name Varga Mila who is studying apes, and she suggested Tomasello, so I read one of his last week. Pray tell, what is your interest in this area?DanielDemaret 07:53, 11 April 2006 (UTC) WikiProject NBLHey EuropracBHIT I am wondering if you would like to join WikiProject NBL. Not sure about the Australia v. Greece match. Maybe you could put up the suggestion and see what response you get. I think a BBQ later in the year might be a better option for a social get together. - Cuddy Wifter 03:36, 26 April 2006 (UTC) Melbourne meetup in planningHello, you've indicated that you're interested in future Meetups in Melbourne on this list, so I'm giving you this message to remind you that Melbounre meetup number four is currently in planning. Jimbo has proposed breakfast as the one real window of opportunity during his tightly scheduled stay in Melbourne. Tbe precise time has to be sorted out with Jimbo, but the arrangements for the equivalent Adelaide meetup a few days before may give a good idea. Feel free to edit the relevant page in any way that might be helpful. I feel like a bit of an interloper, not having attended previous meetups. If there's anything you can do to help, I'll be grateful. Please think about whether you'll be able to make it, assuming the arrangements are similar to those Adelaide is adopting (i.e. a block of time with people being fairly free to arrive when it suits them).
