I'm not sure I can comment about the notability of the article, but if you produce a more substantial edit, then it will probably not be covered by CSD G4. The versions prior to the first deletion sound heavily like an advertisement, so they would have need to be completely rewritten to comply with Wikipedia guidelines. The versions before the second deletion were a straight copy-paste from the application's website, so those needed to be deleted too. Your poem

I think some of your actions were viewed as trolling because people (including me) didn't understand your motives or rationale, and thought it was in bad faith. But Wikipedia:What is a troll? specifically notes that "Reversion warriors, POV warriors, cranks, impolite users, and vocal critics of Wikipedia structures and processes are not trolls." You and I are probably in the latter category. (This is not to say that I have never engaged in blockable behavior; just that criticism of Wikipedia structures and processes, in and of itself, is not inherently blockable; although the way in which it is pursued can be.) I am a Zen Buddhist and a very bizarre person. I am also a very lazy hypocrite. I often amuse myself with my own stupidity, then have to scold myself for being some amused over something I shouldn't be amused about!

This eccentricity frightens people. Sometimes, it even confuses me. Through categorical perception, if they can't drop me in the box labeled, "Normal person," then they must therefore drop me in the box labeled, "Troll."

Also, see the Fundamental attribution error. If somebody on Wikipedia acts weird or flips out, we tend to say, "Oh, that person is just crazy," rather than, "That person faced particular circumstances which led them to act that way."

You could make a list, though, of people with similar views on Wikipedia. They're the minority (and most of them do actually contribute a lot of the mainspace, else they'd get indef-blocked), but they aren't trolls.   (talk) 19:49, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

潙仰 is pronounced as Weiyang, not Guiyang. Please look up it in any Chinese dictionary, e.g, Kingsoft's online dictionary for the Chinese character 潙. And even if it is really pronounced as Guiyang, it is still much less famous than Guiyang City. The city should be the main page and you may establish a Guiyang (disambiguation) as the disambig page. Monkey mind: monkey as metaphor for the mind in the Pali canon

Regarding Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Buddhism/Archive_1#Monkey_mind (to which I'm replying here since the topic's been archived), I know of a couple of Pali Canon discourses where the mind is likened to a monkey swinging from branch to branch (at least once with a fatal consequence), although I don't know of the verbatim term "monkey mind" being used in Pali. For instance, there's SN 12.61 (Thanissaro Bhikkhu's translation can be found at http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/sn/sn12/sn12.061.than.html) and SN 47.7 (Andrew Olendzki's translation can be found at http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/sn/sn47/sn47.007.olen.html). If you think such discourses might be of interest (e.g., for an endnote or a subsection on "Monkey as metaphor in the Pali Canon" in Monkey mind?), let me know and I can scan the Pali Canon for similar discourses. Otherwise, if perhaps you feel the association is too tangential between such historical metaphors and the explicit term, "monkey mind," I can certainly understand and will pursue no further.

ISKCON Cult Vandalizing

Dear Zenwhat, I absolutely agree with the statement "iskcon, a cult, would vandalize wikipedia". I have been battling iskconites on wiki. for about 7 long months. On every article and on every paragraph. Much of the Hinduism articles have been largely written with a iskcon slant and flavor. They have been putting preposterious ideas and non-senses, fantasy information on alot of articles...just see for yourself. Please watch out for wikidas and gaurangaUK...they are notorious iskconites that I have been butting heads with...especially wikidas. Please look at my userpage and discussion, to see what I mean.......please read this letter............Dear Shruti,Thank you for inviting me to help with the Sri Sampradayam article. But, I think that I will holding off for a while with any editing. I looked at the information that wikidas put, and , again it is utter non-sense. The Sri Sampradayam goes back BEFORE the first century B.C., He put 10th century a.d. I also looked at his information that he put on the svayam bhavam article, at alot of it is non-sense and supporting his I.S.K.C.O.N cult veiw. Every thing he writes is with this iskcon cult flavor. His information is absolutely off and just fantasy in certain places, and other editors have mentioned this. But, the one thing that upsets me, is that everyone LETS him put these erronious edits and information. I believe he has really marred the truth and information on many articles. Alot of his information is not trust-worthy. And, I think people should be warned about it. Every editor contributing to any Hindu articles has let him do this. He has even recieved praise for his edits! Look at his discussion section. But, what really gets me, is that he writes EVERY THING with his Iskcon cult slant. I have asked every one for help with him...and nothing. If I had the time, I would make this into a Legal matter. Please, this is not directed to you, please dont take it personally. This is a very serious matter; with his non-sense cult information and no one in the wiki-community really cares. Wikidas and other iskcon-ites, before and during my stint wikipedia, have tinted most of the hindu articles with their particular cult flavor. I noticed your comments on the discussion page. What is your familiarity with this subject? You seem to have not noticed that most of the information in this article, good and bad, comes from The Buddha From Brooklyn. It's the only comprehensive source for the history of KPC. Hi, got your message. I did look at your edit history first so I didn't feel you were a KPC member. Plus, KPC students use a particular phrasing about Guru Yoga, etc., that's very unique. You don't sound at all like a KPC student. These past few days have been a little frustrating on this article. Over the last week Zulu Papa tried to turn it into a personal issue, with accusations ranging from ad hominem attacks in her revert notes ("Why are you obsessed with money and wealth? Is it your own greed?" was prime), telling me she has a personal problem me as an editor, copying over a conversation between myself and another user to the Talk page to try to make a case against me as an editor, calling in a third opinion then disregarding it when it didn't go her way.

It isn't the first time we've been down this road, though she's very aggressive this time. Quite honestly, she's not as bad as what I dealt with editing the Tibet articles last March. I even asked for her help with those Tibet articles but she wasn't interested.

Zulu's been trying to make a case that it's not Alyce's actions that are at fault. That it's not that Alyce has beaten students and grown rich at the expense of her monks and nuns, but rather, the problem is that these things have been reported. Oh, I forgot to mention: to reply to your own history, I'm a long-term Buddhist. My teachers tell me I'm "very Nyingma" (whatever that means) and yet most of my teachers are Kagyu. Go figure. I respect Zen, especially your disciplined retreats.

I noticed when I was writing this article that Martha Sherrill wrote a lot of upbeat articles about KPC, going back 11 years before she wrote her book. I was very surprised. Looking at it in context, with her own comments in The Buddha From Brooklyn (somewhere in there she mentions she was looking for something cleaner than the rough and tumble world of journalism), I get the impression that she was disappointed in KPC. Yes, I've read your essays. I try to remind myself that Wikipedia is not time sensitive. It's a lesson I learned the hard way with the Tibet articles this spring. Oh man. The fury of the Chinese students who flooded wiki, and the amazing discrepancies between what kids are taught about Tibet in the PRC's standard curriculum and what's generally understood in the west to be the truth. That's interesting with the specific bias-pushing of owner/editors of Wiki. The study of history is the study of bias, as every text has it's own historiography. Wikipedia is by no means different. I try to take as my motto something the Dalai Lama said this past spring: "The intellect should never be in the service of anger." Troll?

Hi Zenwhat,

I heard your concerns about me being a Troll I checked Wikipedia:What is a troll?. It says folks that take a genuine decent aren't trolls. Biased editing, even if defended aggressively, is in itself not trolling. You're application is off base. If I where to accuse you of being a troll, like the pot calling the kettle black, what concerns me most is you're misuse of process. Your intent to shortcut wiki process to have me banned, could be considered a troll activity. Being sucked into a negative POV could be the result a troll (Longxxxx) activity.
