The fete aims to put an alternative spin on the traditional English village fete and features stalls from both established names and newcomers in the UK's creative industries, in particular from the fields of Graphic Design and Fashion.

According to an article in industry title Design Week, "the aim of the line-up is to provide a current snapshot of contemporary design, looking at both practices and individuals".

Participants in the 2008 event included art direction 7 design studio INVENTORYSTUDIO, product/furniture designers Carl Clerkin & Michael Marriot, jewellery designers Tatty Devine, lo-fi publication Fever Zine.

Location

Each year the event is held in the V&A's John Madejski Gardens and runs over two days.

2008's fete, in partnership with fashion brand French Connection, was held on 25th and 26th of July.

Past events

In 2007 the fete took place on the 27th and 28th of July
