Vocera Communications, Inc. is an American company based in Cupertino, California. Vocera supplies technology for telecommunication via an IEEE 802.11b-supported wireless LAN. One of its products is the Vocera Communications Badge.
History
Vocera Communications was founded by Dr. Robert Shostak, one of the pricinple creators of the Paradox Database system. A Harvard Graduate, Dr. Shostak founded Vocera Communications in 2000.
Vocera received Venture Capital funding from Cisco, Avalon Ventures, Thomas Weisel Venture Partners and Granite Global Ventures, and began shipping products in 2002.
