We Are the Romans was the seminal third album by Botch, and was released in a digipak in the US. It was released by Hydra Head Records on January 1, 2000, and subsequently re-released on September 11, 2007.[1]

Metalcore band Norma Jean based the sound of their album O God, the Aftermath on We Are the Romans, going so far as hiring Matt Bayles who produced, engineered and mixed We Are the Romans to produce, engineer and mix their record.[citation needed]

"C. Thomas Howell as the "Soul Man" has been revealed to be written about Racetraitor, a band containing future Fall Out Boy members.[citation needed]
