The featured content star

Featured content represents the best that Wikipedia has to offer. These are the articles, pictures, and other contributions that showcase the polished result of the collaborative efforts that drive Wikipedia. All featured content undergoes a thorough review process to ensure that it meets the highest standards and can serve as an example of our end goals. A small bronze star (The featured content star) in the top right corner of a page indicates that the content is featured. This page gives links to all of Wikipedia's featured content and showcases one randomly selected example of each type of content. You can view another random content selection.

T1 Kombi

The Type 2 was the second automotive line introduced by German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen in 1950. It was a van initially based on their first model, the "Beetle" sedan, aka "Type 1" and is generally considered to be the forerunner of modern cargo and passenger vans. The Type 2 spawned a number of imitators both in the US and Europe including the Ford Econoline, Dodge B110 and Chevrolet Corvan, the latter even adapting the Type 2's rear-engine configuration. Updated versions of this line are still being actively produced in international markets.

Thomas More by Holbein

Sir Thomas More was a lawyer and political figure in 16th century England, best remembered as Henry VIII's Lord Chancellor. Although he coined the term Utopia, he was privately wracked with religious guilt, being prone to mortification and wearing a hair shirt. More became increasingly firm in his Catholic religious convictions and fell into disfavour with Henry VIII over his refusal to accept Henry as the head of the Church of England. This in turn led to More's execution at the Tower of London.

Featured list: List of Canadian provincial and territorial orders

The provinces of Canada each have an honours system consisting of orders and awards to honour their citizens for actions or deeds that benefited their local community or province. Each province sets their own rules on eligibility and the award criteria and also how each medal is presented. Most of the orders allow for the recipient to wear their orders in public, and most grant the recipients the use of post-nominal letters in their names.
