This page enables administrators to handle requests for permissions on the English Wikipedia. Administrators are able to modify rollback and account creator rights.
Editors wishing to request a permission flag here should do so following the procedure below. Processed requests are automatically archived.
Permissions
Rollback: Rollback enables users to remove vandalism much more quickly and efficiently than by undoing it. Users who do not demonstrate an understanding of what constitutes capable vandalism fighting, either because they have no or little history of doing so, or show a poor ability to discern between good and bad faith edits will not be granted this right. For a more detailed explanation of rollback and information about when it is appropriate to use the tool, see Wikipedia:Rollback feature. For information about the technical details of the feature, see here.
Account creator: The account creator flag is granted to users who are active in the account request process. The flag removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24 hour period. It also allows users to make accounts with names similar to other accounts. The account creator flag is only given to users who participate in the ACC process and may be removed without notice should a user's participation in the account creation process cease.
AutoWikiBrowser: AutoWikiBrowser is a semi-automated Mediawiki editor for MicrosoftWindows 2000/XP/Vista designed to make tedious repetitive tasks quicker and easier. It is essentially a browser that automatically opens up a new page when the last is saved. When set to do so, it suggests some changes (typically formatting) that are generally meant to be incidental to the main change.
Please read the quick guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by that agreement. Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask local sysops to add you there.
Note that users with under 500 mainspace edits are RARELY approved. Also, you only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace edits! If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage.
NewPageWatcher: NPWatcher is a Wikipediatool, which allows users to perform new page patrol easily, with a graphical interface for the attachment of appropriate deletion tags, as well as a prodding interface and an AfD feature.
As a guideline, you should have at least 500 edits and a clear understanding of the policy before requesting NPW. Any administrator can approve users (and himself/herself) for NPWatcher: just add the user name(s) to this protected page in alphabetical order, inform the user(s) that the application has been processed (better with User:Martinp23/NPWatcher/Approval template).
Note: While the IP-block-exempt right can also be granted by admins, this should not be requested here. Requests for the IP-block exempt right should be sent to the unblock-en mailing list or, if there are significant privacy concerns, to the CheckUser list.
Removal of permissions
If you wish to have any of your permission flags removed, you should contact an administrator.
This is not the place to request review of another user's rights. If you believe someone's actions merit removal of a permission flag, you should raise your concern at the incidents noticeboard.
Note: The administrator flag can not be removed using this process page.
Process
Requestors
To make a request for a permission, click "add request" next to the appropriate header and add the following code:
*{{subst:rfp|Your Username|Short reason for wanting permission}} ~~~~
Do not simply edit this page and add your request, or it may be removed. Any editor may comment on requests for permission.
Administrators
Administrators are permitted to grant rollback and/or account creator flags to any user who demonstrates a need for the tool(s) and can be trusted not to abuse them. They should review a user's contributions (i.e. reversion history) or account creation logs to ensure the tools will be used appropriately and check for any indication of potential misuse.
Once an administrator has granted a permission or decided to deny a request, they should add {{done}} or {{not done}} respectively under the request with their comments. The request will then be archived automatically: approved requests for this month will be placed here. Declined requests for this month will go here.
Current requests
Before using Rollback
Editors requesting Rollback should read Help:Reverting and Wikipedia:Rollback feature before using the tool. Misuse of the feature, even if unintentional or in good faith may give cause for it to be removed.
NNot done I think you could do with a bit more expereince rather than just a day or so reverting. Also this wasn't vandalism. Pedro : 09:15, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I hate having to undo like three revisions. I'd really appreciate rollback rights for this reason, if nothing more :) -- Tylerdmace (talk · contr) 05:28, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I was recently granted the rights. How should I deal with this entry here? Can I simply remove it? -- Tylerdmace (talk · contr) 07:06, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
It looks like Huggle would make it easier to issue warnings; I'm having to do that manually now. But to use Huggle, I need rollback rights. --Jw 193 (talk) 00:20, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
NNot done Please come back when you have at least ~300 edits. For the time being try using the undo button or twinkle. Tiptoetytalk 00:46, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
I have been recently doing some vandal busting quite lately and after reading though the rollback and reverting articles. It sounds like a good tool to have. Numyht (talk) 21:08, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
You appear to be using WP:UNDO to revert good faith additions to the encyclopedia, and not atempting to engage the editors in dialogue. Would you use Rollback in the same way you use undo? Pedro : 21:13, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
You have a very good point Pedro. I hereby withdraw my request until I am more expirence. Thank you. --Numyht (talk) 21:15, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
NNot done Okay; marked not done but please review WP:RBK and ask for the tool when you're confident in using it and there will be no issue in granting it. Pedro : 21:17, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
I've been active in Wikipedia for a while now, and a member of the Good Article review team. I just found out about this additional area that I'm interested in and can help with (the account creation project). I have applied to become active in the ACC and now need this permission to be able to fully participate by avoiding the 6 account limit. Cheers! Nja247 (talk • contribs) 20:56, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
NNot done You haven't created any accounts yet. Account creator rights are not necessary to use the tool, so please apply again when you are actually hitting the throttle. Thanks! ] 07:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I would like to lift the 6 accounts per day limit. Having accounts there waiting to be approved and not being able to do so is annoying at times, especially when it is just 10am.
YDone and keep it up. 19:37, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to expand my section a little since obviously I'm getting no NPwatcher lovin'. I would very much like an efficient way to relieve the work load on other editors preforming this task. I understand CSD very well, and it would be great to give me something to do besides working for consensus at pages where consensus is all but impossible to obtain. I already have Twinkle, Popups, and Rollback rights, plus I like puppies and kittens. 19:49, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh please give me an easier way to add templates and messages to usertalk pages for CSD actions! 07:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Beano (talk • contribs • count • total • block log) Would like access to the tool in order to stop patrolling pages manually. This would really help me do my new page patrolling quicker. ~Beano~(talk)(contribs) 17:11, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
I've been page patrolling through Huggle, and want to check out this tool. 00:04, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Arbitrarily0 (talk • contribs • count • total • block log) I wanted to see how NPWatcher compared to Twinkle. At least from the overview, NPWatcher seems much more efficient. () 21:49, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
DavidWS (talk • contribs • count • total • block log) I'd rather use a tool dedicated to NPWatching over Twinkle or Huggle. 15:52, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Cyclonenim (talk • contribs • count • total • block log) — I'm currently proficient with the ACC tool and rollback and am looking to expand into new page patrol. I believe this tool is better for the job than Huggle is, which I currently use too. —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 18:02, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Chris Mason (talk • contribs • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) - I was formerly approved under my previous name Mason11987. I had taken over this name in the meantime and would like to haev the rights transferred to it. Thanks! Chris M. (talk) 19:51, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Please only list approved/trial approved bots here
I'm assuming that users who ask for AWB access may not be so active as to check whether they've been granted it every day, or even watchlist this page. Hence, I tend not to delete applications until roughly 48 hours have elapsed. Of course, they can always check the list of approved users, but for those whose applications are borderline, it helps if the record is maintained here. Comments? --Rodhullandemu 00:09, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
If you deem it necessary, that's completely okay with me. :) Best wishes, —αἰτίας•discussion• 21:02, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm... I'm not sure whether this is right. -- 05:15, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
In what way? --Rodhullandemu 07:19, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, administrators would never have their rights revoked because it's automatic with them. If this was to happen to non-administrative users, then that does not "balance the scales". Thanks. -- 03:03, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
I was talking about how long we keep applications listed here after being considered. There's no issue about removing rights; just as AWB can be granted by any Admin, it can also be removed by any Admin if it's misused. In borderline cases I usually seek a second opinion, but there is always the option of a user requesting a review at WP:AN. So I don't think the issue arises. --Rodhullandemu 04:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. -- 06:41, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
I actually almost forgot to check this page. Would it be possible for you guys to leave a message on accepted users' talkpages? That might help. Thanks! 02:22, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Maybe... If R&E doesn't do it, then who will? It will help, but I think that was unnecessary. Thanks for the advice, though. -- 05:03, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
