Welcome to WikiProject Linux. At the moment, this project has just started, and needs members. Join if you are interested in Linux. The aim is to get as many users as possible. Advocate to fellow Linux contributors and get them on board. If you know someone who contributes here and uses Linux make sure they are aware of this project. Please help out by indexing all the Linux articles you know of on Wikipedia:WikiProject Linux/index.
Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to Linux. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.
WikiProject Linux is an attempt at creating a community of Linux wikipedians to maintain and write for Linux articles on Wikipedia. The aim of this project is to make sure that all Linux articles are kept upto date, cited, clean, factually accurate and NPOV. For our purposes, "Linux" includes Linux distros, GNU coreutils, and of course the Linux Kernel. Applications that run on linux may also fall within the scope.

spazure (contribs) (review) 09:28, 5 September 2007 (UTC) I only know SuSE not because I'm a flavor snob, but because the fs layout of other flavors confuses me, so I stick with what I learned on. Luckily, a lot of people don't understand SuSE, so sometimes I'm a useful geek to contact. spazure (contribs) (review) 09:28, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

vendion (talk) 18:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC) Been using Linux for almost two years now, been using openSUSE as my distro, and I am willing to help out any way that I can.
-- 03:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC). I am looking for the right distro. I have loaded my old computers with Puppy linux. I have also tried OpenBSD, Vector Linux, and Xubuntu.
For now, we need to collaborate on getting the WikiProject organized and get a healthy set of articles/lists marked up with the Wikiproject template. In the future I plan to use this space to advertise a specific article that we want to get to good article status.
For Linux stub articles use the standard {{linux-stub}} or one of its sub-stub categories.
Article Talk page template
On the talk pages of the articles that we are focusing on, please put in this template: {{WPLinux}}. It should appear like this:
This non-article page is part of the Linux WikiProject, a group of Wikipedians interested in improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to Linux, and who are involved in developing and proposing standards for their content, presentation and other aspects.
If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks.
This page is not an article and does not require a rating.
Please don't add this to articles we have not yet had an effect on. It frustrates some of the editors that have worked hard on the article in the first place.
