To improve Wikipedia's coverage of Netherlands by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles.
To provide guidelines and recommendations for articles that describe all aspects of Netherlands.
To help new Dutch editors learn the ropes of Wikipedia.
To serve as a central point of discussion for issues related to Netherlands in Wikipedia.
Our scope
The Netherlands Wikiproject generally considers any article related to Netherlands as a valid topic. Having said that, we shall try to include all such articles in the Category:Netherlands.
Improve the articles within the project. Take a look in the stub, start and B-class lists and find a favourite subject. Pay attention to it and get it up to a higher level
Find and label articles within the scope of this project using template:WikiProject_Netherlands (syntax {{WikiProject_Netherlands|Class=}} or the shortcut {{WPNL|class=}}). Fill in Class label based on quality given on page (or assess the article using the assessment criteria. Note that FA and GA are only given by Wikipedia. All other classes are assigned by the projects themselves. Leaving out the class label will automatically add the article to the unassessed list
A bot is skimming new articles and if it suspects they are about the Netherlands these are added to the list of potential articles about the Netherlands. As a bot is not very good at making the intricate decision whether the article is truly within the scope of the project, an editor has to check on these and add the tag (the talk page of) the article with {{WikiProject_Netherlands|Class=}} if the article is indeed within the project.
If you think certain articles about the Netherlands are important but not yet present on Wikipedia, you can add these to the list of requested articles. If you want to help develop the Netherlands project, please go to the list of requested articles and see whether you can make a first draft of one of these articles.
The Assessment department focusses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Netherlands related articles.
This will aid us in recognising excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.
Everyone can help in assessing articles.
Assessing an article in easy steps
Determine which article you want to assess. This maybe any Netherlands article you notice, an unassessed article or an article with a specific assessment request. Please do not assess articles that you yourself have been a major editor on, as it is likely you will be biased.
Have a thorough look at the article and relate it to the criteria from the grading scheme to determine which class to assign.
Stub, Start, and B class assessments can be made by every editor
A class assessment maybe awarded after formal review within this project
Good Article (GA) and Featured Article (FA) assessments require formal review procedures in the larger Wikipedia community (outside the project).
Edit the talk page of the article add the "|class=???" section within the brackets of the Netherlands template: {{WikiProject Netherlands|class=??? (other tags may exist like this "|xxxx|yyyy")}}
Instead of the "???" fill in your assessment (Stub, Start, or B (or in special cases A, GA, or FA).
Future article improvement candidates are always needed. Please list articles that you think should be improved to meet the next level on the quality scale. Based on response, the tabel below will be maintained to track the current target articles
Use the edit tag above to add your nominee below for each category.
Or add your support vote to an existing nomination
This round of nomination will run until May 1st 2008

Hendrik Pieter Nicolaas Muller Batavian Republic Has been expandd in a very serious way, I think it is already close; and as it is an important episode in Dutch history, I would like to give it the little extra. Arnoutf (talk) 20:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Eem I have tried to take the WP NL article and translate it to create the English article. However, my Dutch is very limited, and I have not captured all the NL article text. papageno (talk) 15:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Important: If you're thinking about nominating an article for deletion (only articles, not templates or categories), please consider the following two alternative options:
Is the deletion likely to be uncontested? If so then add a proposed deletion tag to it instead; if uncontested after five days, the article will be automatically deleted.
Only if you think the deletion will be contested and debated is it necessary to go through AfD.
When listing a deletion nomination here, please copy-paste the relevant notice to the deletion discussion: *{{subst:delsort|Netherlands}}
