To improve categorization of percussion related articles.
To rate and review percussion related articles.
To compile a list of useful resources on percussion to use in article referencing and writing.
Scope:
All percussionist biographies and articles on percussion instruments, technique, and notation/composition.
Structure:
We are a rather small project, so having directors and coordinators seems like overkill. Unless our membership expands greatly, we are just a discussion and article improvement center.
Andrewa—kit drummer (since 1974), jazz, rock and gospel, cymbal enthusiast, imterested in all genres
Brad Halls—rudimental drummer, member/instructor/arranger of marching bands & drum corps
Rm w a vu—classically trained A-muss player, now plays rock (quite a quantum leap). Also plays Jazz, Funk and teaches style extensively (I only teach experienced players, not beginners, any more).
Barkjon —mainly drum kit player, some djembe, plays some other percussion, loves Christian Rock and Alternative Rock, loves drums!
Philip.t.day — Orchestral Percussionist, and Drum Kit player. If you hit it, I like it! 12 years of experience as a Drummer, 7 years as an orchestral percusinist. I teach Drum Kit for pocket money to take to Uni.
Get timpani listed as a good article, then relisted as an featured article.
Verify percussion articles. We currently have very few articles with appropriate amounts of referencing. Sadly, the vast majority of good percussion literature available online is not free (like the PAS archives and mammoth Grove encyclopedias.)
If you are able, record some samples for articles and upload them to Commons.
