Album concept

Fantasy Ride will be released as an eclectic three-disc album rather than all the tracks on a single CD. Five to six songs will be featured on each disc supplying a different theme. The first disc entitled Groove City contains slow jams similar to Ciara's Evolution single, "Promise". The second disc called Crunktown includes crunk-influenced tracks reminiscing "Goodies". The third disc named Kingdom of Dance provides up-tempo house and freestyle cuts.[3]

Production

Ciara once again took the role of executive producer of the album, but this time she made the album a joint venture, co-excutive producing the album with producer and good friend, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and her longtime A&R Coordinator, Mark Pitts.[4]

Ciara first went in the studio early 2008 with producers from Danja, The Clutch, Jim Beanz, Tricky Stewart, Polow da Don, and Jasper Cameron among others. As the year went on, Ciara and her management team felt that the album may need a few finishing touches, as she later set up more recording time with T-Pain, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, and writing partner Sean Garrett.[5]

Ciara also recently announced that she has set up additional recording sessions with more producers including Bloodshy & Avant, Scott Storch, and Jim Jonsin.[6]

On November 12, 2008, Ciara stated in a recent interview with WildJam Media, that she is going in the studio to record some new tracks with Justin Timberlake. Ciara also stated in the interview that among the confirmed guests already that there are two more guests to come. [7]

Promotion

In September 2008, Ciara adapted a more mature and sensual image. She appeared in Maxim magazine, where she wore lingerie.[8]

On September 16, 2008, the October issue of Vibe magazine was released, which Ciara appeared nude on the cover.[9] In the article, Ciara discussed the album, her relationship with rapper 50 Cent, her dissolved collaborating with Jazze Pha, and the bizzare rumors. Later that month, it was reported that Ciara was unsatsified with the Vibe cover and was planning to sue the magazine. Ciara said, "when I saw the photos, I was a little bothered because the photos appear as if I was nude, and I wasn't nude. I reached out to [Smith] - I sent her a letter - and I was a little upset, too." Later reports confirm that the rumors of her suing the magazine company were false.[10]

On September 27, 2008, Ciara, her parents, and fans celebrated the release of the upcoming album at Austell's Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park. For the day, the roller coaster Goliath was renamed Fantasy Ride. Also, Ciara met fans and signed autographs.[11]
